Commercial litigator Elana Gloetzner has joined Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky & Abate as an Associate.  In her new position, she will handle complex commercial, transactional and appellate matters for Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky & Abate’s Litigation Division.

Ms. Gloetzner, a member of the Florida and Michigan Bars, formerly practiced with a Michigan commercial litigation firm.  There, she represented clients in commercial transactions and litigation, specifically in the areas of contracts, land use and real estate.  Other matters in which she is experienced include construction, the Uniform Commercial Code, business torts, trade secrets and bankruptcy proceedings on behalf of creditors.    Her experience has included working with violations of federal antitrust laws and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act.

Admitted to practice in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Ms. Gloetzner is also an inactive member of the Arizona Bar. 

In 2005, Ms. Gloetzner was elected to the Representative Assembly of the State Bar of Michigan, a position designed to improve the proportion of Michigan Bar members who actively participate in Bar policymaking.

A graduate of University of Detroit School of Law, cum laude, Ms. Gloetzner spent part of her final year of law school in Washington D.C., where she participated in drafting multiple articles and speeches on the use of alternative dispute resolution in national and international settings for the U.S. Delegate to the International Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution, among other activities.
