Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky & Abate’s Fred Karlinsky Presents at International Insurance “Summer School”


Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (October 2, 2008) – Fred Karlinsky, a shareholder with the Fort Lauderdale-based law firm of Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky & Abate, was a presenter at the U.S. Property and Casualty Insurance School, held September 21 through 26 at Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge, London. His presentations included “The Regulation of the U.S. Market” and “Regulation and Emerging Issues for the U.S. Insurance Market.”

Presented by the American Association of Managing General Agents (AAMGA) University and IMC North America Ltd., this weeklong event focused on understanding, improving and tracking the U.S. and U.K. property and casualty insurance markets. Presentations specifically touched on the risks faced by the current market, including climate change, earthquakes, terrorism, nanotechnology, and genetic modification.

Participants included underwriters, underwriter assistants, claim and litigation professionals, brokers, or account managers in the U.S. or U.K. property and casualty insurance business.

Mr. Karlinsky focuses his practice on insurance regulatory matters, insurance legislative matters, insurance transactional matters and governmental affairs. He also serves as Florida counsel to the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America and general counsel and chief lobbyist for the Florida Property and Casualty Association, an association comprised of a number of the Florida domestic property and automobile insurance companies.

He received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Miami and his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University College of Law, where he was recently named as an adjunct professor of insurance law.
