Richard J. Fidei, a partner with the law firm of Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky & Abate, has been admitted to the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (“FORC”), an exclusive, national association of attorneys who qualify for admission based upon specialization in the practice of insurance regulatory law.
Mr. Fidei joins Fred E. Karlinsky, a shareholder with the Firm, on the FORC roster from the State of Florida—a select list comprising only a dozen attorneys.
In order to be considered for FORC membership, an applicant must be a lawyer in good standing, with at least five years of experience in insurance regulatory law, and must devote more than fifty percent of his or her time to insurance regulatory matters. Each member must be recommended in writing by three insurance industry executives from unrelated companies who have attested to their skill and competency and successfully complete an admission process prior to being offered membership in the association.
A member of the Florida and Pennsylvania Bars, Mr. Fidei represents insurance companies, general agencies, brokers, reinsurers, premium finance companies, claims companies and other insurance related companies in connection with transactional matters and regulatory and compliance issues. He assists clients in the formation, financing and licensure of insurers and other insurance-related entities and has represented numerous insurance entities in matters such as formation and expansion activities, financial, reinsurance, market conduct, rate and rule filings, as well as in court and administrative proceedings, including supervision and insolvency issues. In addition, Mr. Fidei has experience in a variety of governmental and administrative matters and in an array of dispute resolution proceedings, including trial, mediation and arbitration.
Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky & Abate, recently named as one of the top two insurance regulatory law firms in the United States by Reactions Magazine's international insurance industry survey, is a full-service law firm specializing in government relations, commercial litigation and administrative law, with offices in Fort Lauderdale and Tallahassee. The Firm’s litigation practice group also handles civil rights, employment discrimination and child advocacy matters on both the trial and appellate levels.
